GEO Workplan Symposium 2015

El Grupo de Observación de la Tierra organiza en Ginebra, del 5 al 7 de mayo de 2015, su Simposio anual sobre el plan de trabajo de GEO. A continuación se reseñan los objetivos y los enlaces a la agenda y repositorio documental del Simposio. The main objective of the Symposium is, therefore, twofold: (i) to start the discussion on the content of the first Work Programme of the new GEO period; and (ii) to identify the main elements that will form the basis for the final report on the achievements of the first GEO decade, to be presented at GEO-XII Plenary in November 2015. All Task Teams have already been contacted and asked to provide information on progress and plans for their respective activities.The Symposium will bring together the whole Work Plan community and will also provide an opportunity to discuss the draft “GEO Strategic Plan 2016-2025: Implementing GEOSS”, (latest version issued on 12 March 2015), which constitutes the reference framework for the next decade, and to propose and discuss future activities to include in the GEO Work Programme. The General Objectives and Draft Program of the Symposium are available, along with the IPWG Report “ExCom33_05_Update from the Implementation Plan Working Group (IPWG)” at:, We will continue to post Symposium related material on this site, as soon as it is developed.We look forward to your participation in the Symposium and would be grateful if you could indicate your intention to attend via return email to the GEO Secretariat ( and to Giovanni Rum ( by 15 April 2015.We recommend that you make your hotel reservation as soon as possible, as Geneva tends to be busy at this time of year (a list of hotels is available on the ftp site).
